ummm guys, not everyone is going to enjoy everything they hear...ive listened to both bands and truthfully i think string cheese is as lame as can be, but thats just my opinion so who cares..u gotta approach music with an open mind, if not your gonna miss out on alot...i remember being at a show a few years ago that was a split show by umphreys and bisco, there were two kids beside me that were big bisco fans and didnt really like umph because of a couple songs at a festival they were at, i convinced them to stick around and give umphreys a chance and they fucking loved it, so what im saying is dont right off a band so easily, i love the biscuits but theres a bunch of their song i dont care for

Could you possibly imagine that upon your first time hearing a band/seeing them live, you might not understand their music. I know for myself, I've never listened to SCI and probably never will and if I do, I will probably say that they suck... or at least that the set/show sucked, notwithstanding my opinion of the band. (Or who knows... maybe I'll find some common ground with my musical palette.) Certain bands are an acquired taste. I think we can agree that the Biscuits and SCI fall into this category. So when you say that the set sucked, just consider that you know nothing about the Biscuits or that this was one of the most well chosen (and executed) setlists for the occassion of opening for SCI at Hampton... a nice short opener that showcases their progressive rock/electronica/hard rock skills... a sandwich of two of their best songs, which differ immensely in tempo and affectation... and a jazz-fusion transplosion leading into their most infamous and ordained jam vehicle, Basis. This was a good setlist, and they played the songs very well. I hope you can listen to some more Biscuits, from different points in their career, with Sammy drumming, with Allen drumming, and come to a consensus at that point as to whether they suck or not for you. I could send you some shows if you'd like. Just post your email addy and I'll hook it up. Here's to great music! Cheers!
